Yes, it's been bloody ages since my last journal. Gone are the days when I would put up a journal or two a day! Yeah, so what's new everyone? Come on, I haven't journaled since August so you must have something going on! Come sit on my digital lap and tell me all... okay, that sounded sordid... Anyway...... yeah.
It's been ages since I posted a journal, so figured I'd post one. Here goes...
The Dark Knight rocks, Star Wars: The Clone Wars could have been better, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is so much like the comics you feel the need to turn the page. Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone is a great album. Pizza is brilliant. Peas still suck. How is everybody?
My last crit of Teechers (which was the most amazingly amazing play in the world!) seems to have been popular... I saw Brassed Off at the Royalty last night, so here goes another Crit of Wonderment!
Brassed Off is a play about a clown and how sweets offend working class mothers. There's a subtext somewhere about a band and a coal mine, but they really do play second fiddle to the whole "clown/sweets" thing. There was some staunch acting on show, including Liam Olsen as Shane the Plane from the popular 1980's Aussie Soap "The Flying Doctors". Only here, we see Shane pretending to be an 8 and a half year old from Yorkshire in an ingenious plot to foil the Taliban. The show also had a one night only performance from Andrew Hunter as Audience Member Sitting in Seat E1. To be honest, he was very average, and I didn't believe his motivation. All in all, the play was very very shiney, and had some swears and lots of paper money in it, so I give it Horse out of 19. Bravo you horn tootling coal miners!
P.S, My mood isn't sorrow, but the little mood thing wouldn't load...
Watching: Coal Miners slagging off Margaret Thatcher
Playing: The Darkness
Eating: Nothing at the moment
Drinking: Blackcurrant Juice
In Memory of Stan Winston
Thu Jun 19, 2008, 2:25 AM
I was gutted to hear that Stan Winston has sadly passed away at the age of 62. This visionary man was the creator of some of the most amazing and memorable creatures ever to grace cinema screens; Terminator, the Queen Alien, Pumpkinhead, Predator, the Kothoga, the dinosaurs from the Jurrasic Park movies... I could go on. He will be missed.
Yes, I should heading out of the door right now, and yes, I will be late for where I must go, but this caught my monster-hungry eye and I had to let everyone know about it! Yes. I am that sad...
